Please be respectful of other participants and organizers. Continuous disrespect of anyone involved will result in the offending party being removed from The Hunt.
If you have any concerns about any of the rules, please contact the organizers (for this event Ki11ersix). We take suggestions into consideration.
- You must create a new character from level 1 and utilize only that character for the duration of the competition.
– You must also select normal difficulty. Do not select easier difficulty.
- To have proof of a drop, you must provide a Twitch clip on the Item List page (click Claim). The clip must show the item dropping from its source and you must look at the item so you can see the item card pop up.
– If you cannot see the item card, the drop will have to be refarmed.
- The drops will consist of the base game and all DLCs
- Legendaries in the Arms Race DLC do NOT need to be extracted to count, you just need to provide proof of the drop.
- Legendaries in the True Trials can NOT be counted for points, even as your “world drop” points.
– You may still do True Trials and use the items you find, but they cannot be counted for points.
- The Special Events can only be done after beating the main story.
– The Special Events are now available free for everyone and accessible at the character select menu (Bloody Harvest, Broken Hearts & Revenge of the Cartels).
– Drops from named Cartel enemies can be counted even when they spawn outside of Villa Ultraviolet.
- No guardian rank can be utilized for those competing.
– Please disable guardian rank to keep everyone on the same footing during the competition. This includes all bonus stats and guardian perks.
– If you are not competing and are doing the Hunt for fun, you may use guardian rank.
- The lost loot machine cannot be used.
– The reason for this is that drops that happen off-stream during casual play can end up in there.
- True Vault Hunter Mode is NOT required for this competition since there is no added benefits
- Only (1) item per slot. No duplicate items for points.
– Each item can be redeemed only once and you cannot farm the same item for multiple iterations of points. Once you have it, you have it.
- Mayhem Levels: CANNOT be turned on and off throughout the play through.
– When you start mayhem, you are restricted to stay in mayhem levels.
– The only exception to this is when Tannis MAKES you enter Mayhem 1. You may turn it off at that point if you would like.
– You may, however, switch Mayhem levels throughout the playthrough (e.g. Mayhem 11 down to Mayhem 1).
– This means you CAN use Mayhem 10 gear and farm on Mayhem 1 if you’d like.
- Co-Op regulations are as follows:
– Co-Op play is allowed and encouraged, but all signed up with a column must be streaming.
– Co-Op is allowed ONLY* for Proving Grounds, Slaughter Maps, Arms Race, Takedowns and Hemovorous.
– Entering a co-op players game late into any of these activities is NOT allowed (i.e. waiting for them to have the boss nearly defeated and then joining to get the loot).
*The exception to this rule is if a player hits a Soft or hard lock in their game (i.e. a mission prevents them from progression or any other gamebreaking bug that blocks progression that can be overcome by joining a co-op player), they may join any other participating player long enough to complete that mission.
– If a drop is found while in Coopetition mode with multiple column-assigned participants (loot instance: OFF), only ONE (1) highlight is needed; please make sure to put the names of your co-op partners in the highlight description/clip title.
– If you are playing in Cooperation mode (loot instance: ON), a drop only counts for the player who got the drop (No picking it up and dropping for team mates to count it).
– Utilizing co-op with others playing as perfectly geared characters using mods is explicitly NOT ALLOWED.
– You may farm with friends up to the max party size (The Host + 3 Players). Each player must be the same level or within two levels (+/- 2) of the host of the game.
- No golden key items
– No items from the Golden Chest are allowed for use in the playthrough.
- No Diamond Loot Room items
– No items from the Diamond Loot Room are allowed for use in the playthrough.
- No Maurice Black Market items
– No items from the Maurice Black Market are allowed for use in the playthrough.
- No Vault Card items
– No items from the Vault Cards are allowed for use in the playthrough (i.e. Shlooter, Guardian 4N631, Super Soldier, etc).
– Vault Card Chests cannot be opened during the playthrough. Even on level up. Do not open the chests.
– Vault Card XP is allowed as there’s no way to disable it.
- No read only/dashboard farming
– You may not read only/dashboard farm to obtain certain items or redo mission objectives.
- Your bank can be used
– You can use your bank, but only items earned on your Hunt character can be taken out. You cannot pass items to your Hunt character from other characters using the bank.
– You can NOT sell old items from your bank or Lost Loot Machine.
- No Super Deluxe or other edition bonus items
– There will be no use of the 6 super deluxe edition bonus items such as the Hyper-Hydrator pistol, Diamond Buttbomb grenade, Badass Combustion shield, etc.
– If you have the super deluxe edition of Borderlands 3, these will be in your mail every time you start a new character. You are allowed to claim them all out of your mail and throw them on the floor to get rid of them.
- Mailed items rules
– You cannot use mailed items sent from people on your friends list or items you won from a loot chest or extraction event.
– You can use mailed items that NPCs or manufacturers send after completing challenges (Ex. 100 kills with Jakobs weapons, finish crew challenges, etc).
- You may count the Baby Maker, Bekah* and Lyuda for points in your mail if you receive them through the challenges.
*This is the ONLY way to obtain the Bekah.
- Most ECHOcast events must be disabled.
– Events that must be disabled are the Moxxtail, Piñata/Party Donkey, and Badass Viewer events.
– Events that can be enabled are the Rare Chest and Extraction events so viewers can get rewards.
- Science boosters from Sanctuary are banned
– Since points carry over from all other playthroughs, it would leave new players to the game at a disadvantage.
– You can do the science mission to get the mission XP, but buying boosters is prohibited.
- Only ONE world drop of your choosing is allowed to be redeemed for points from any random enemy, chest, etc. toward your progress.
(A world drop is defined as a unique/legendary item that a specific enemy/boss normally doesn’t drop)
– Since BL3 is very generous with the random legendary world drops, it would be against the spirit of the Hunt to farm one boss and rack up 300+ points in 20 minutes.
– You are allowed to pick up and use world drop items, but they will not be counted for points, with some exceptions*.
– You can redeem your world drop choice either immediately when you pick up the item or hold the world drop points for the end of the Hunt. Either way, you are required to clip the drop.
*World Drop exceptions are the Arms Race DLC exclusive legendaries, Rocket Boots, Launch Pad, and Rowan’s Call items.
– You can count all Arms Race exclusive legendaries for points no matter where they drop within Stormblind Complex.
– You can count all DLC 1 Class Mods for points no matter where they drop within that DLC.
– The Rocket Boots, Launch Pad, and Rowan’s Call world drops count for points due to Red Rain and Blue Fire throwing their loot out of bounds.
- Items from slot machines are not allowed for points unless you choose 1 as your world drop.
– You can still take and use the legendary items you find from slot machines.
- Items from vendors are not allowed for points unless you choose 1 as your world drop. This is due to how common the vendor legendaries have become.
– You can still buy and use the legendaries from vendors.
– If you are going to count your 1 world drop legendary from a vendor, make sure you purchase the item and make a clip of the purchase for it to count.
- Items from the GunGun are not allowed for points unless you choose 1 as your world drop. This is due to the Legendary firing mode on Gun Gun.
– You can still take and use legendaries obtained from the Gun Gun.
- All items in the Lilith chest after beating the story count for points.
– Beating the story should be rewarding. All items you find in the Lilith chest can be redeemed for points, but you cannot save/quit or read only farm this chest. Open it once.
- The Desolations Edge Cube may be opened for loot one time with any legendary items dropped from it being fair game for points.
- All items in the Jackbot loot room in the Handsome Jackpot DLC count for points
– All items you find in the Jackbot loot room can be redeemed for points. This only applies to your first run through of the DLC.
- All items in the bank chests/lockers in the Bounty of Blood DLC count for points.
– All items you find in the bank chests/lockers can be redeemed for points. However, since the lockers are bugged and respawn after a save/quit, you cannot save/quit to refarm the lockers. The first roll is what you get.
- All items in the Vaulthalla loot rooms in the Fantastic Fustercluck DLC count for points (The hidden back rooms count too!).
– All items you find in the Vaulthalla loot rooms can be redeemed for points. This only applies to your first run through of the DLC.
- Unique purple items in DLC 4, The Fantastic Fustercluck are NOT required for The Hunt.
- Mayhem exclusive items that drop during the Maliwan/Guardian Takedowns count for points.
– If you find any mayhem exclusive drops during the Maliwan/Guardian takedown, those items will count for points (e.g. the Backburner from Anathema or Scourge).
- No mods or macros allowed
– The competition will take place in vanilla Borderlands 3. The usage of any mods or macros are prohibited. ABSOLUTELY NO MODS/CHEATS/TRAINERS OF ANY SORT.
- Classic hunt rules apply as far as exploits/glitches
Banned glitches/exploits:
– Complex Root splash/area of effect boosting (Boosting splash or area of effect related stats will cause the Complex Root to have an insane splash radius).
– You CAN use the Complex Root, but you CANNOT use it with anything that boosts splash or area of effect related stats. When in doubt, don’t use it.
– Teleporting vehicles during map transitions
– Instant gun reloading
– Pestilence reload cancel/flying
– Unlimited skill point stacking
– Stacking shield effects of any sort
– Abusing Re-Volter effects via glitches
– Abusing Phalanx Doctrine via glitches
– Abusing the Toboggan via glitches
– Emote cancelling to abuse Multi-Tap, Gargoyle or any other weapon or item.
– Using photomode to grab the Bounty of Blood DLC bank lootables early
– Pushing photo mode camera through walls/bars or any other area you can’t access normally.
– Item duplication
– Leaving Eista in Fight For Your Life to easily farm him without fighting him (you must kill him for each drop)
– Refreshing the Vaulthalla armory by walking away and back
– Skipping Scourge the Invincible from teleporting the player away using Dakka Bear or any other means.
– Using Dakka Bear to charge crystals in Guardian Takedown
– Any other obvious glitches/exploits not mentioned here. If it feels cheaty, just avoid it or reach out and ask for clarification.
Exploits that are allowed (Agreed on by the community since they aren’t game breaking):
– Rocket jumping
– Grenade jumping
– Apply damage over time to self (Used for stacking Amara’s Mindfulness skill, activating elemental projector artifacts, activating Moze’s purple tree skills, etc)
– Resetting scraptrap spawns by walking in and out the arena
– Respawning Rampager by entering/exiting the vault
– Overlapping dialogue (Sometimes when you progress a mission fast, dialogue can overlap and skip mission objectives forward)
– Getting thrown out of Iron Bear to reset cooldown
– Canceling action skills by opening inventory on Zane
– Missing phasegrasp on purpose for Amara
– Out of bounds is prohibited. Accidentally going out of bounds is forgiven if you immediately go back or save and quit and do not gain any advantage on competitors.
